Director of Engineering
Come enjoy the great outdoors! Lakeland Public Television (LPTV) is a small market PBS station located in the heart of northern Minnesota’s beautiful lake country. We are seeking an outgoing, progressive, and highly motivated team player to lead our IT and broadcast engineering efforts in our brand new Bemidji, MN based headquarters. This is not just a desk job, you will be hands on daily. In addition to managing, leading, and planning, practical knowledge and the ability to solve real hardware and software problems is required. Real world experience with production and broadcast equipment, Mac and PC computers, and IP infrastructure is required. RF and transmitter site experience is preferred as well.
Either a BS degree in a related field and 5 years experience or 10 years experience with formal electronics training required. A proven track record of innovation and initiative along with good communications skills is required. SBE certification preferred. LPTV has a long history of stability with an excellent board and staff. We have no debt, a solid cash position, and the start of an endowment fund. We have a strong community presence with an emphasis on local service, including our own nightly local news. We’re also a technology leader and have a strong online presence and are multicasting six digital channels.
