A former Bemidji school bus driver has been found negligent for dropping a six-year old boy off at the wrong bus stop.
The boy’s mother, Janel Samuelson, tells Lakeland News that the Department of Education found the driver negligent but the schools bus department was not held responsible.
The boy was dropped off at his home rather than his daycare last March. He remained outside the locked home for about forty-five minutes before his mother found him. Temperatures were in the forties at the time.
The bus driver, who was a substitute driver, has not been named. He can appeal the decision as can the family. Samuelson says the family will not be appealing. She also says the family will not press criminal charges or file a civil lawsuit in the case
