Bemidji State Football Spring Thoughts
Thursday’s Annual Spring Game ended the early 2015 preparation but did not end the Beavers’ quarterback controversy.
Ryan Shields went 3 for 9 for 23 yards and 3 interceptions. Jordan Hein completed 4 of 10 passes for 38 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.
The offense showed some promise in the rushing attack. Tony Peterson led the Beavers’ rushing attack with 48 yards on 6 carries. Tahi Nomane finished right behind, picking up 46 yards on only 3 carries. Michael Washington showcased his abilities with some flashy moves and bouncing off big hits.
On the other side of the ball, the defense stole the show, forcing four interceptions and a fumble. The Beavers lost three players in the secondary from 2014. The replacements look well-equipped for the job.
Tanner Dufault stepped up his game and stepped in front of a Jordan Hein pass that he returned 55 yards for a touchdown.
