In a word, this Warrior football team will look “different.”
Brainerd will have new starters at quarterback, running back, offensive line, defensive line, and kicker.
All those openings have led to intense competition at practice.
Right now the starting quarterback and running back candidates have been cut down to four kids at each position.
Whoever winds up becoming quarterback will be very happy with the talented receiving corps of Cole Spieker, Steven Severson, and Quinn McElfresh.
One of the talented receivers will likely become the new kick returner.
The defense ranked 4th in Class AAAAA last season, and with six returning starters, should be even better this season.
That kind of defense will help take a lot of pressure off the Brainerd offense, whoever that may be.
