After a five-day trial, a Cass County jury convicted Park Rapids man Dane Riley Friday of murdering, burning and dismembering his cousin Mark Huesmann in July of 2012. Riley was found guilty on three counts; second degree murder, interfering with a dead body and illegal possession of a firearm. The jury came to a verdict after nearly three hours in deliberation. The defense says the state’s case was based on “little hard evidence and no forensic fact,” and they plan to appeal. Jamil Donith summarizes the final day in court.
