A Bemidji man will be the next district court judge in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
Today, Governor Mark Dayton appointed Eric Schieferdecker to that judgeship, which will be chambered at Warren in Marshall County.

Governor Dayton released a statement today saying he was pleased with the appointment.
“Throughout his career, and through service to children and victims of crime, Mr. Schieferdecker has demonstrated his strong commitment to justice and to the betterment of his community,” said Dayton. “I am confident he will be an excellent judge.”
Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District consists of Aitkin, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau counties
