New Brewery Brings New Flavors to Nisswa
A new business in Nisswa is attracting curious onlookers. It’s a new brewery and the second one in the Brainerd Lakes Area. For this week’s Community Spotlight, we explain how Gull Dam Brewing company plans on changing the way the community tastes beer.
A brewing company in the Brainerd Lakes Area is nothing new. But just like how Napa Valley has its wine tasting tour, Gull Dam Brewing owner Mark Anderson envisions this region to be place for visitors to tour breweries.
Already the company is raising some curiosity. Brew master Luke Steadman comes to Gull Dam Brewing from Pennsylvania where he helped Sprague Farms and Brew Works develop into a destination farm brewpub. Gull Dam Brewing plans on making four types of beer to begin with. There will also be a tap room for patrons to enjoy their drinks while seeing it get made.
The brewery will also serve as an event center for business meetings, weddings, and concerts. The grand opening for Gull Dam Brewing is planned in the beginning of September.
