Red Lake will use their 2014 state tournament experience for much more than calming the nerves. On Thursday’s return trip to state, the Warriors will face the same Class A quarterfinal foe, Maranatha Christian Academy.Red Lake players say their defense has greatly improved from last season, and is up to the challenge of facing the Mustangs’ 7th ranked offense in Class A. The Warriors’ 9th ranked offense holds its own against the best, averaging 81.5 points per game. Red Lake attacks the basket from anywhere on the floor with any number of players. The Warriors’ game plan against Maranatha sounds simple. Play defense, and then beat the opposition down the floor.
