Youth Watercraft Operator’s Permit Class


The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office hosted a youth watercraft operator’s permit class in Breezy Point Wednesday. About 16 kids ages 12-16 attended the class. Watercraft operator’s permits are required for different age groups depending on the horse-power of the boat’s motor. Sheriff’s deputies taught the kids about the different rules on the water and several safety tips. After passing the permit test, the students operated the Sheriff’s Office watercraft to gain confidence to go with their their newly acquired knowledge of boating.
